School Gym: telescoping bleachers and pressbox

We have a gymnasium with bleachers that telescope out and fold up. In the front row of the bleachers, there is a pressbox which is basically a table for the scorekeepers to sit at.

The pressbox needs receptacles, and wiring for microphones which needs to be connnected back to the wall.

How should I specify this to be ran? Does anyone see any problem with specifying flexible metal conduit to be ran from the wall to the pressbox??

Has anyone ever wired a pressbox like this?

The floor recptacle is one choice. Could the floor recptacle be a trip hazard when the bleachers

are stored against the wall ? For permanent connection how about some of that accordion

style product ? Then again why not have the microphone and power in standard boxes on the

wall & just run cords when needed ?

All the telescoping bleachers I have seen have some sort of festoon wiring scheme, apologize if that term is incorrect. The riser of of of the bleachers has boxes cut-in for power, scoreboard(if not wireless), and P.A.. L.V. is supported/secured to bleacher undercarriage. Good tip to include some sort of reset for bleacher power that is accessible. Many bleachers around here are wall to wall(no access when bleachers are stowed), with the disconnect and contactor mounted on the wall behind....

Yes, I would have prefered the floor too, but the architect wants them in the telescoping bleachers.

And I do worry about a floor box being a trip hazzard if the bleachers are pulled back.

Good idea about the reset. I could see that being a problem.

I'll have the architect check and make sure there isn't some sort of option available with the bleachers.
