The shallower the depth of discharge, the longer a lead-acid battery will last.
Definitely plug in the charger during lunch hour and breaks.
also depends on C rate.

take two identical fully charged batts, run the 1st down to 10% DoD in 8hrs, take the 2nd down to 10% DoD in 15min. the 1st batt will last way longer if they both cycle that way.

'Tis true, but once they're installed in a scissors lift, the discharge rate is a variable that you don't have any influence over.

A 15-minute coffee-break charge won't do much -- maybe add 2% to the state of charge -- but it won't do any harm.

That sort of charging is currently referred to as micro-cycling, and there are arguments that a larger number of microcycles may be worse for the battery than fewer deeper (but less than 50%) discharges.
The argument relies, among other things, on the redistribution of active material that takes place during cycling. If the microcycles are interspersed among deeper discharges, the effect may not be as great as it would be in the case of repeated same depth microcycling.

good AGM's can go 80% DoD w/o a significant hit on life.
50% DoD is the safe zone for most LA's.

there exists 100Ah 24v lithium batts that have batt manager built-in. they are way smaller than sister LA. but, the Li batt was about 4x the price.
the Li batts would be beneficial in lifts as they can be recharged faster. i would pay the extra $1000+ for Li batts if i owned scissor lift in a biz.
