SDS grounding required?

In the 2400 watt inverters there are DC/AC transformers. Would this be classified as a Seperately Derived System and require grounding according to 250.30?

Article 690 covers the rules for grounding PV inverters.

That said ........ yeah there needs to be a GEC.
 
Thanks iwire...I was told today that 690.3 trumps the rules in 250 on the inverter SDS grounding I thought should apply. I will have to look to 690.47 (C) 2008 NEC as the method that is used. I'm not sure how it is addressed in the 2005 NEC
