I recently noted a residential installation where the owner used SE Cable inside SE Mast conduit. Is there anyplace where the Code addresses this as okay or as a violation?

Re: SE Cable (220A)

sonar,
Have been looking around in my book.Articles 338,230 & 300...And I see nothing -directly related- that calls it a violation,or says that you can't install SE Cable in a overhead service riser raceway (service mast)...Not that I can find..

Re: SE Cable (220A)

230.43(7) permits the use of SE Cable as a wiring method for the service entrance. 230.50(A) continues to require SE cable to be protected for physical damage by one of the methods listed. These two sections indicate the installation you are questioning is just fine.
