I started out doing residential back in the day but now I've been doing commercial for the last 10 years. I must have fallen asleep during my last code update class but is there a change to using aluminum SE cable for a range this code? We always ran 6-6-6-6 aluminum se cable in the past for ranges but for some reason I thought there was a change. Is this still ok? Thanks in advance

It depends on the range. #6 SE cable is still good for 40 amps.

The big change for using SC cable for branch circuits in a house is in 08' you now have to use the 60 deg. column instead of 75 deg.
