Howdy Gentlemen and everyone else,
I wanted to thank all of you folks on this forum for the last 6 years of reading you all as I have had many questions as an old career changer. Started apprenticeship at 47 years young.
Finally joined and want to know what you more experienced gents have been using to search the NEC? I have been doing it manually. I'm slow, methodical and through but get distracted by many interesting topics on my way to finding what I need to know. I have been practicing on improving my speed as I am on the last chapter of the last textbook and thinking about that journeyman's test.

Thank you for your time,
Don A J

I use PDF versions of the NEC which have a good search function by simply typing in a keyword.

Welcome to the Forum. :)

If you are going to take the test, I do not recommend becoming dependent on the electronic versions of the code book. It is imperative that you be able to thumb the book quickly to pass the test and studying with a searchable document will hinder your speed greatly. Memorizing the format of the sections and the TOC will help tremendously. I think the hardest part of taking the test is not the content but the time limit.
