Looking on how others look at 300.11 (A)(1)and(2)
This article deals with securing and supporting of wire and boxes in fire rated and non fire rated drop ceilings. In the hand book it does mention that luminaries are not to be supported bo gid. In luminaries section it says you can either tie up or secure to grid as long as the system is rated?
I am looking at it the sam in fire rated all have to be individually supported and in non fire rated I check the grid paper work to ensure it can support the weight. than they can mechanically fasten to grid.
Feed back on what is seen. When I was in business I supported all any way.

That is my way also. IMO code does not require it if grid is listed for supporting luminaries.

I am an inspector. Was a contractor in business for 8 years and in the feild for total of 25 years.

Do me a favor and correct the spelling in your signature or explain to me what feild is.
