Can anyone tell me where to reference seismic requirements for new bus duct being placed throughout an existing building. We are in New Jersey upgrading an existing switch to new gensets with new bus duct running from the 7th fl. through the building and down to new basement House Service Boards. Looking to be pro-active as to any requirements we may fall under. Thanks

Re: seizmic constraints

The project specifications should identify the seismic zone the building is in. Once you determine that, the building code will provide you with installation requirements.

public law 95-124 is a starting point. It is part of the earthquake hazards reduction act.
Your AHJ should be able to tell you what codes are applicable in your area.
I've installed a fair amount of seismic bracing, and I can tell you that it is worth the money.
