Hello every one:

Does the meter option in SEL 751 relay (Medium Voltage) has a read out option at the unit it self by pushing some buttons or it needs to report to some monitoring system to get the meter read out? I'm thinking to remove the meter package at each feeder if this option is available.

what is the benefit from having a meter (IO 7350) at each feeder over the relay if we can read out the meter at the relay it self?

Thanks in advance!

Accuracy. The 751 does not have metering accuracy CT inputs. If relaying accuracy is acceptable for your purpose, the metering data can be accessed from the front panel I believe.

I know that
but by the time you buy all the optional stuff might as well buy a meter
easier to use/set-up than thumbing thru a limited display/menu

Thank you all for the responses.

I have another question as far relay 751, do I need to have bus & line VT's to make relay 751 functional? in another word, I'm looking at Eaton Main-Tie-Main arrangement example in consulting application guide and they have bus & line VT's provided. Can please someone explain to me the purpose of having both.

Thanks

Only necessary for a closed transition re-transfer. Need both to check for sync.
