Self-protected Combination Controller

Good day everybody, I hope you all had a great long weekend.

I'm having a hard time understanding what this code section is referring to:
430.109(A)(5) "Self-Protected Combination Controller Listed self-protected combination controller."

Can someone please provide an explanation or perhaphs a list of devices that would be under this description? Thanks much in advance.

That would be a combination starter with the disconnect, the contactor and the overload device in a common enclosure.

Every one I remember seeing in catalogs involved IEC style components.

It is more like a "unitized" combination starter, all of the components are in a single device. These devices meet UL 508E requirements.

Square D calls theirs TeSys U.
