If you mean who has been around the longest I would say Mike Holt himself except I don't see him registered any more. He used to occasionally post in the beginning. I would also say Bennie Palmer if he was still with us. When I found this forum in 2000 he was already very active. Since he has past on that that would leave.. dare I say me, even though I am not to active any more, don_resqcapt19, or maybe Bill Addiss? Am I forgetting anyone? Since the forum has gone through several major reconstructions and we have had to re register a couple times it is really hard to tell.

Earlier versions of the Forum software assigned a member number to each person who registered. Member #1 was the Administrator, and many of the first 20 members were employees of Mike Holt Enterprises. I was Member #27, and I signed up in February of 2003. The present version of the Forum software does not appear to have carried over the membership numbers.

However, there was another version of the Forum software that was in use before 2003. When they switched software, everyone had to register again, and all information about membership numbers and numbers of posts was lost. Since 2003, there have been three changes in software, but we have not had to re-register each time they switched.

I know there were people here before me, but I found an early post of mine in an old Forum from October 2000. I first became a Moderator in Feb. 2001

I'm sure it's a little older than that. I found it in early 2000 and Benny Palmer and Rick Meil (SP?) were at the top of the post count. Is Rick still around? He was an inspector from, I believe, Colorado.

One thing I just discovered: 1/20/1970 was the busiest day on the forum ever, and I didn't even know the internet was around back then. :D

I'm not even sure if Arapnet was around back then.

I'm not even sure polyester was around back then. :p

Have to correct myself, it was actually Sept. 11th 2000

So far the oldest registrations I have found were from Sept. 2000
Myself, Don, Karl Riley, Scott SET and Rick Miell all registered sometime that month.

September 2000 was the start of new forum software. The previous version is probably gone forever. See the posts below refering to the "old forum"

Scott, I just got back from a 2 1/2 day meeting for the IAEI in Madison, WI. Had a great time. I to am looking for more action on this, and from the previous posts, it looks like it will develop quickly.
PS Keep up the good work on your replies, like you did on the old forum.

Good luck. RM

Hey Rick, Glad to hear from you!
Sorry for the delay in replying

This new group / forum is already beginning to get some good posted messages and replies, so hopefully it will catch on .

Still checking into the old forum here and there, but not too much activity lately

Hope to see more posts from you here also!

P.S. I really like these animated smilies, possibly too much?

The first moderators were Bill Addiss, Mike Cermak, Bill Poindexter and Bennie Palmer. Bennie passed away about 1 1/2 years ago in Oregon. How these were recruited I don't know.

Mike Holt asked me to be a moderator in the spring of 2001. I recruited Charlie B, Charlie E, Don G and Dereck Campbell. How? I watched their posts and saw they filled a void.

Mike later asked me to be the first "Chief Moderator", a great honor.
I think the forum was set up and Mike H didn't even know much about it.

I did a google search & found a Mike Holt's code forum submission from the late 1800's

it went something like this

... -- .-..-. --..---.-....-.-...--.--..-..-.--.-.-.-.-.---.-.---.....-..---..---.--.-.-..-.---.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Looks like morse code to me. Something about the code book being 30 pages long now.
