I have a project that I am working on that will be installed in a Class II Div 2 location. I have two dust-tight sensors with quick disconnects (Turck M12). The sensors are rated at 24VDC and are solid-state. My interpretation of the code is that the cabling would not be allowed, but could the sensor be used if connected directly to conduit?

Thanks,

I don't quite understand what gave you the impression that cables were unacceptable. There are several methods mentioned in 502.10(B) including cross-references ultimately leading to 502.140.

That said, connecting directly to conduit would be dependent on manufacturer's instructions.
