Besides all the various building zones needed for alarm, are separate zones typically provided for the trouble and supervisory signals?

I am not an installer but I believe that is determined simply by programming if the system is addressable. If I understand correctly regardless of the signal devices are monitored via the same type of relay.

For non-addressable systems, "zone" means an initiating device circuit. It was once a common practice to use a single zone for flow and tamper. The tamper switches were wired as normally closed, and would cause a trouble on the flow zone by interrupting supervisory current when a valve was shut. That was outlawed in NFPA 72 years ago. Trouble and supervisory signals must be distinct. You can't put alarm and supervisory signals on the same non-addressable zone anymore.

lielec11 is correct; "zones" are not very meaningful on an addressable system.
