Does anyone know a specific building code for separation of systems.
My IOR keeps quoting a code that requires 6" of separation between systems unless seismically braced then it is 1". I have been asked by GC to fix low voltage cables on J-Hooks to get separation and no contact with suspended ceiling wires. However, I cannot seem to get a clear answer on this code. The only thing I have found is this spec.
Keep raceways at least 6 inches away from parallel runs of flues and steam or
hot-water pipes. Install horizontal raceway runs above water and steam piping.
