I know this sounds like a stupid question but I will ask it anyway, I have a job where there are two buildings next to each other( they are chapels - mauseloums). The existing building has a 200 amp service. The new building really has no place to put a panel and they would like all the branch ckts to come from the existing panel to feed the new building. Any code problem with this ? Iam looking at article 225 and see no problem. There is about 10 ckts going to the new building. because of the landscaping they would not like to have a panel outside either if they can avoid it. Load and space is no problem .

I'm looking at 225 and do see a problem. 225.30, specifically. :(

Unless 225.30(E) can be applied to your situation, I think they'll need to need to incorporate a outdoor panel into the landscaping plan.

Good luck,

Oops, sorry for the duplication. My browser refreshed when I hit "submit" and I see Roger beat me to the draw. :)

Chris, there's nothing wrong with some back up. :)

The only "stupid question" is the one that is not asked. So by definition, yours does not qualify.

I agree with Roger and Chris. What you suggest is not allowed. They are just going to have to find a way to hide the new building's outside panel with landscaping features. But that doesn't mean they can plant a bush in front of it. They still can't violate the 110.26 working clearance rule.
