Hi There
I am rewiring a septic system that consists of the pump and couple of floats. Right now there is a junction box attached to the 4x4 post (broken) and the owner wants it fixed. However he is asking if we could mount a disconnect on the house wall (outside) instead by the septic cover. This is about 25 ft from the cover, no obstacles. The only way that I see would be to use some kind of a direct burial box by the cover and make all the splices there, then take it to the house through the PVC pipe or similar. The disconnecting means would be still accessible. Is there a problem doing it this way or you guys my have a better suggestion.

Thanks

In my area the septic pump chambers are accessible, containing a carlon j box for splicing with waterproof connections to the pump and float cords.

If this is your case, you could trench the 25' from pump chamber to your new location for your controller/disconnect and alarm.

Last one i did was nice plastic box mounted on wall of house. It contained some kind of low voltage wiring to the tank as well as serving as the disconnect.Made my job easy, all i had to do was feed it 120 volts from panel.

Thank you both

I think Jim answered my question. That is what I will do. I will mount a carlon box on the inside wall of the septic chamber and make my connections there. This way nothing will stick up around the chamber.

Thanks
