SER considered as 1 conductor

Is something like 4/0,4/0, 4/0, 2/0 SER, with it's outer sheath, considered as one conductor or as over two wires when sizing PVC conduit?

A cable assembly is treated as a single conductor in conduit.

Watch for oval/flat cables like UF; they're treated as round conductors of the larger dimension.
