Series Rating or Fully Rating???

I used Series rating method on my commercial project, provided catalogs from siement; used J-fuse as main ocpd and series with down stream brekers according to the Siemens series rating chart.


The Plan checker wants me to obtain the available fault from Utilility company (DWP) and run a short circuit calculattion with reference to the utility comp. given data
and specify obtained values in front of each breakers down the stream.

Wondering,
Here there is no diffrence between Series Rating and Fully Rating ?????
We go with series rating to eliminate cost , dont you think so??

Does checker want the numbers for info or is checker asking you to re-design? Perhaps they just want to see how much difference it actually makes in equipment cost?

Plan reviewer may be asking for compliance with 110.24. This is coming up
more often...

They need to see the available fault current at the first device to verify the design is compliant. With a series system, there is really no reason to do the calcs for the downstream breakers.
