Service Call

I know that job costs will vary across the country but I was wondering what/how other contractors will bill for a service call.

I bill at a one-hour minimum, then by the quarter hour. I don't do much service work, though.

We only do service work in IN, OH and KY. We have an office in OH as well as IN.

We just do construction contract work in the other states with travelers.

What's the voltage drop on those travelers?

2 hr. minimum ($80) labor charge, then by the half hour.

I charge 45$ for trip charge and 1 hour min at $50.......then I double or triple the material

$90 for the first half hour or part thereof.

$90 per hour after that (nearest 1/4 hour)

$30 trip charge if over 10 miles.

$15 trip charge
$75 per hour
1 hour minimum nearest 1/2 hour there after
125 to 150% markup on materials
no time charge to go to supply house either reschedule or make fast run.

$90 for the first hour(1hr min.) and $75 per hour after that in 15 minute increments.

$60 per hour
1 hr. min.
charged by the 1/2 hr (30 min. or part therof = $30)
truck charge incorporated into material charge
50% material markup
50% - 100% markup on special order material
most of our supply house runs are for critical emergency calls and we therefore charge time.
and we don't mind filing liens or taking people to court. We also dearly love to turn over cold checks to the county prosecuter for criminal action. It is amazing how fast a reputation for this spreads!

hehehe .. I let accounts go for a year then send them a nice note saying I am going to charge them 18% interest plus a 40% collection fee and then in 10 days fax it to my freindly collection agency. They call, plead and within 30 days I get a check. Its amazing how effective seeing your credit score go down will motivate people to send money.
