service conductors size

Per NEC 240.4(c), the ampacity of the conductors shall be equal to or greater than the rating of the overcurrent device. My question, if I'm using 1600A switch gear with 6 breaker (No Main CB). can I run (3) sets(service condutors) of 500KCM to service equipment? since there is no main!!

Yes if the calculated load is within the rating of the conductors.

230.90(A) Exception No. 3: Two to six circuit breakers or sets of fuses shall be permitted as the overcurrent device to provide the overload protection. The sum of the ratings of the circuit breakers or fuses shall be permitted to exceed the ampacity of the service conductors, provided the calculated load does not exceed the ampacity of the service conductors.

Sure! Your service will be an 1140 Amp service and you should indicate that on the permit also.
