I am looking for some imput on 230,70,A. For years we have designed our projects with the Main Switchboard in an electric room located on an exterior wall with an exterior door and had this comply as a readily accessible location. There is a new plan reviewer that has now told us on our last couple of jobs that we have to have a remote control device on the exterior of the building period. " A remote control device shall be installed at a readily accessible location to actuate the service disconnecting means that is installed inside nearest the point of entrance of the service conductors". The plan reviewers contention is that we have to meet all of the requirements of 230,70 (A)(1),(A)(2), and (A)(3). This project has a 480/277 volt 2000 amp switchboard with 5 handles and no main, and per his comments we will have to go back and add a main breaker with GFCI and the remote control device. We have talked with the local head inspector and he says he is not going to enforce it even though the reviewer is interpreting that the remote button is required. Just looking for some other input or interpretation. Thanks
