What type of insualtion is required for wire going down the mast of an overhead service drop? 18" of the wire will be exposed at the top. Can you change to THHN (if different down the mast) from the load side of the meter to the panel main?

Any wire outside (even in a conduit) needs to have a W in the rating.

Almost all THHN is THHN/THWN these days anyway.
