There was an earlier thread on SE conductors but it was closed, and it didn't get to this point that I am bringing up. The exposed conductors coming from the weatherhead to the splice with the service drop conductors will be exposed to sunlight and weather. So is that why SE cable is needed due to it's sunlight testing by UL? Wiring method RMC (allowed by 230.43) doesn't state an allowance for short run of exposed wiring entering a conduit fitting. NEC 230.43 to me removed a lot of wiggle room. The question is an exposed sunlight resistant insulated conductors entering a weatherhead to RMC that are not SE listed acceptable per NEC 230.43? If so please provide, a rationale to get around the wording:
Service-entrance conductors shall be installed in accordance withthe applicable requirements of this Code covering the type of wiring
