Can someone walk me through an example with code references for calculating service entrance conductors for a 1200A service.
I looking at 230.42.
The looked at Table 310.15B16 resulting in needed 3 sets of 4 #600kcmil (using 75 degrees 420*3=1260 which is sufficient for a 1200A service)
Then Table 310.15B3a which for number of current carrying conductors in a raceway is where I get lost. I have 12 current carrying conductors. What do I do next?

As Chris stated if you have 3 raceways then no further calculation is required because you only have 3 CCC's in each raceway. If you were using one raceway then you would need to apply derating and your conductors would no longer be adequate for 1200 amps.
