Does the NEC require that all service conductors whether in conduit, direct burial, etc have USE or SE insulation? I have never done this but have used THWN or RHW in the past. If this is a code requirement, please identify the article stating that is must be done. Thanks, Tom

Re: Service entrance conductors

Tom, the only requirements are that the cable/wire be used in accordance with its listing and labeling as well as the articles that cover the wiring method involved. In other words, THWN or RHW may be used in a wet location (UG in conduit) for service entrance. 310.7 states "Conductors used for direct burial applications shall be of a type identified for such use." :)
