I wanted to get an idea what people like to use when doing a service upgrade when it comes to connectors? I was always told to use parallel groove connectors with rubber tape and 33. I always see the service entrance butt splice connectors but have never met anyone who has used them. The main reason i ask is i am thinking of purchasing a crimper for service butt splices and wanted to see if people out there think it would be worth it.

I chose a crimper based on it's ability to handle C-Taps, listed as grounding and bonding means. I settled on the T&B TBM-5 tool and a single hand version for the little C-Taps.

We always use Ilsco SPA splices. Then the POCO cuts them off and installes their own compression fittings.
