Can I extend underground service-entrance conductors ? I have to move a meter from the basement to outside and the conductors will be too short. I was thinking maybe I could extend the underground conductors. I don't have enough height to mount it on the side of the house and the roof line is not there to aloud me to put it on the roof.

Thanks,
Gus

I have had an inspector tell me I can't before, and I didn't. However, 230.46 seems to be real clear. Sometimes it is easier to make them happy. For your situation though, it may be easier to throw the book at him...:p

This was the same inspector that told me you can't splice unfused wire. Don't know where that came from, it is done all the time.
