service load

hello everyone, I have a question regarding service loads. I recently did a service change on a 2 family house. The service equipment is rated for 400 amps, I did two 100 amp services. The owner now wants to convert the first floor into a pizza place and I would like help on how to do the load calculation. I was also wondering if I have to change the metering equipment or if I can just change the wire and panel on the first floor to 200 amp. All input is appreciated,Thank You

Welcome to the forum. We'll need equipment and building load information to help you determine the service size.

First, in most jurisdictions, residential occupancies must be metered separately from commercial. Your description doesn't give much detail on the service gear. Lets start with that and the equipment to be installed.

Article 220 will help with the load calcs.

The metering equip. is a two meter/bypass lever with main breaker all in one unit.I do not have cuts on the equipment being installed yet,but I know the equipment will not exceed the ampacity of a two hundred amp service rating. I guess I did not ask the right question the first post,I need to know if I can just change the main breaker in the metering equip., the conductor's to the first floor and the panel-to 200A without changing the metering equipment.
