Anybody had problems with the the latest XP Service Pack 3 download?

Why would I want it?

A request to "backup" the system always makes me very nervous.

Obviously it depends on your system. I've updated three of mine and all was OK.

Did the Autocad update as well.

Are you talking about the Windows XP SP3, or the Office SP3? Windows XP SP3 (final release) worked pretty well on both of my 32 bit systems. I didn't notice much of a change, but it looks like everything works.

I have two systems up to xp sp3, and am doing another right now . No problems so far with any of them. Why update? The updated antivirus/firewall software I use wants SP3. OTOH if none of your new software needs it, just stay with SP2 and run the windows updates as they appear.

Regards backups- you -do- have one, don't you? It's always a good idea to back up your data before any major software change.

i installed it on my system and have had problems with hasp lock drivers. I have to uninstall and reinstall drivers every now and then.

My first attempt at SP3 resulted in me having to format the HD and re-install everything onto my laptop.

2nd attempt went smooth onto the laptop....THEN I did the install on to the desktop, which also went smoothly.
