Hi , I am building a garage (29x30) and im almost to the point i can dig a trench and lay the conduit and wires..
here are the item thats going to be in the garage.
five 8 foot florosent lights ( cold weather ballast)
16 -110 v recepticles
5 out side lights ( with energy saving floro)
1- 220 v air compressor 60 Gal with 5 HP motor
1 -220 v mig welder
2- garage door openers
this is all thats in the garage and I may add a gas furnace later
so lets add that into the factor
now my home has a 100 amp service and is about 1000 sq foot in size
1 microwave
1 refridge
1 washer
1 elect dryer
1 elect water heater
1 a/c
1 dishwasher
1 gas stove
1 gas heater
1 computer
and about 3 recept per bedroom x 2
and 6 recept in the 3rd bed room
4 recept in the living room
6 recept in the kitchen
do i need to up grade my home service? or can i run a suppanel off my home panel??
How can i figure my load useagefor my home and my garage?
also if I have to up-grade to a 200 amp main service,
#2 wire what size conduit should I use?
also anyone have an old NEC book, I could sure use one.
thanks for all your help..
