Thank you for reading, I do mostly smaller residential jobs. I am installing a new underground service and the customer wants the least expensive(cheapness) option possible. They want a (240v) 200 amp panel (the load calculation would permit a 100a) I usually run 2.5 or 3'' pvc conduit but looking in the book I think I can get away with 2'' PVC and run 4/0 alum urd to keep the cost down even though 2.5 would make the pull a lot easier. The run is about 120feet meter to street. Is my figuring correct or am I missing something??

Yes 3- 4/0 will fit in 2" conduit. I assume the urd is really a listed cable. If you run conduit you don't need urd wiring.... Are you doing this job with a contractor overseeing it???

I am helping a friend who lives in the next state over where licenses don't exist and it's like the wild wild west. I called the inspector since this is the first service I'm doing in this location. He wasn't even interested in coming and inspecting the ditch and said "It's not my problem if you can't pull your wires in." I feel very comfortable doing the work, it's just that usually the material is already at the job and this is only the 4th service that I am doing on my own. I just want to cross my t's and dot the i's. I take pride in my work and can be a little OCD when it comes to my staples and drilling holes. Yes the URD is a listed USE conductor. I really appreciate the input.
