Hi,

Can someone help me find the article thats gives the minium Service Size to a Residental home? I see that Art. 230.23B (2008) says Minimum wire size is #8 copper, that has me confuse because I am almost certain that there is an Art. that says 100amp is the smallest service size, I just cannot find this code.. Also table 310.15B6 Minimum is 100amp, maybe i just answered my own question ??

Also how far does a Meter have to be from a Window? Is there any Code? I understand 230.9 and 225.18 for Overhead Conductors but what about a Meter?

ok i dont know what state you are in, however 310.15 B7 page 153 in a 2011 code book states the info you are looking for but here in wisconsin it is a state code that says 100 amp min. to any single family residence unless you have engineering specs stating otherwise. and as for the meter near a window code ( agian here in wisconsin) its 3 feet which is found in the metering manual of your local service provider. or power company.

I am in PA , I do not have a 2011 code book yet, Pa is on the 2008.. Is 310.15 B7 (2011) a table like 310.15 B6 in 2008 or is that a written code rule that says 100 min?

thanks copper chopper
