I'm aware of 210.63 requiring GFCI receptacles for HACR equipment, however, I'm not sure if exhaust fans are included in HACR equipment. How are these defined?

I got failed for a hood exhaust on the roof and no outlet, actually by the plumbing/mech inspector.I agree with the other posters that it is not required. However, IMO, some kind of outlet in the vicinity of this type of equipment is a good idea for when the poor service guy has to work on it in the dead of night.

There was no engineer, just a small fried chicken place.IMO this is on the engineer that did the plans that did not show the required outlet if it is actually required.
