I've hooked up manufactured homes before while working for others, but haven't gone through the planning process on my own before.
When a homeowner "orders" a home are they given the service size that is needed for the home, or are they just informed that it will have a 100 or 200 amp panel already terminated and the service size is left up to the electrician doing the install?

Customer has a double wide and is upgrading to a manufactured home with an attached garage.
Not sure of existing service size or any specs on the new home, just curious.

I've not seen a mfg home, or even a mobile home in years that is less than 200A. I don't think a customer has a choice when ordering one, unless it would be a job trailer or other special order trailer.

I would think a load calculation is done as with any service, and you'll be told what size the panel is.

Or just go with a 200a service (on a pedestal if applicable), and go from there. The labor is the same.
