Service Sizing

Looking to feed a 1000 amp service w/ copper thhn, is 400 kcmil X 3 sufficient?
Or a 2000 amp service w/ copper thhn, is 400 kcmil X 6 sufficient?

The answer depends on a few post unknowns:
Is there an ambient temperature problem ?
Conduit system ? How many conductors in each conduit ?
If it's a 3 phase 4 wire system, is the majority of the load nonlinear ?
Is there a single "Main" ? If not, what is the calculated load ?

No Ambient Problem
3/O, 4 Wire
I'll have a bank of (4) 4" avaliable
single Main
Lighting load is standard Hi-Bay flourecent ,
with mixing and pump motors being the bulk of load, approx 95% of draw
