Service Transformer inside Parking Garage

Customer wants to locate main service transformer inside open parking garage with 10.5' ceiling height.

Anyone run into this before, is it allowed?

The customer does not get to pick the location. The POCO tells you where it is going to be. That won't be in the parking garage.

I have seen it done but only on "campus" installs where the customer owns the transformer and the distribution system. As Texie notes, never seen a power company allow it but it would be their call.

Agreed.. if the customer owns the transformer and maintains it, I don’t care where it is.
If we own it, it’s not going in a garage.
