I would like to confirm that I do not need a service upgrade for my 150 amp service. I beleive I need to calculate the amps used by using the kw-hr from the peak month documented on my phone bill. I am having difficulty doing this.

Can anyone help?

Re: service upgrad

You also can't do it with your power bill. The kWHr meter measures energy and you need the demand. You need to contact an electrician to get the answer to your questions. He will calculate the loads in your home using the methods shown in Article 220. :D

I would say that is the best advice, for such a question ;) .

"Confirm"? Did someone tell you that you needed an upgrade?

Since your profile says you are an electrician, I might guess that residential is not your area of specialty. You can look through NEC Article 220, and at some of the examples in Annex D, and figure out how to do a service calculation. Even a rough estimate from this calculation process could let you know if you have plenty of spare capacity, or if you are in trouble with the existing service.
