I can't speak for what it would cost in NJ, but for the benefit of the NJ members, they are going to need a lot more info to give a good estimate on what this would/should cost.

Frank,

There are no fixed prices, each job by it merits, what are the site conditions, is it overhead or UG, are you using cable, or conduit, what type of conduit, PVC or rigid, rigid steel or rigid Al, what conductors are you using, copper or Al, If it's overhead how high, how many bends, if it's underground, do you need utility shutdown, and restore, what type of panels are you using, Cu or Al buss, how many spaces, how many existing circuits, to remove and replace, will you need back board, and how about the grounding, do you need to run 10 feet in the oppen or 90 feet thru finished basements, is there a slab where you need to place your ground rods.

Then you need to know your overhead, and operating expenses, and what profit will you require, add your material with burden costs, and there is your price for the service.

Frank, your in NJ, where 40% of the EC's that go in business are out in 3 to 5 years.

It's a overhead service. I'd be using about 20" of SE cable (200amp) and (2) runs of SE cable to the panels (100amp). One panel has 13 single pole breakers, the other has 9 single poles.

I upgraded my neighbor's duplex several months ago. I installed two 100A Siemens 20/20 panels (copper bus) side by side in the basement about 10 feet away from where the old fuse boxes were. Overhead service, dual meter socket, unfinished basement, water main about 30' away from the panels. Moved about 12 circuits.

My material cost was about $1200 ($450 was for the dual meter socket), and I charged $2500 for the job. Since it was my neighbor, I gave him a bit of a break on the price.

Minimum of $2500 - $3000....more if the panel location, wiring, etc are a disaster area.

I swapped out a 125A (maybe 150A ?, I forget) QO panel for $2000 a few months back. Panel location was a disaster - you know the type, buried in some DIY cabinet of some sort or another.

I love those. Bid 'em high -- when you're done everything just looks so much better than it did before that the customer will see the value in your high bid and be thankful. :)
