Service upgrade. What about the old 3 conductor dryer and range circuit?

I will be honest in that I have not upgraded a service since the new 2020 code changes. I was reading a post that the old 3 wire range and dryer cuircuits must be replaced. Is this true? Which article does this fall under?

Last, other than the extra $$$ for the disconnect outside, and the surge protector in the panel, is there anything else I should be concerned about?

We are not required to change any existing branch circuit wiring on a service change. We do upgrade ranges and dryers where accessible and budgets allow.

Here in NJ the old 3-wire dryer circuit can remain on a service upgrade.
