Need to size wire for new meter inground pedestal to 200a with main panel in basement.

200a / 83% / 166a. 240ft from meter to basement panel. voltage drop gives me 300M alum at 166a.

I think im over thinging this but am i missing something or just electrical inspector paranoid?

Since voltage drop compensation for this is not required by the NEC you could use any aluminum conductor #4/0 or larger. What current number did you use in your calculation? The NEC load calculation numbers are typically oversized compared to the actual load.

I agree with Rob but in my quest for overdoing things, I would probably run 300kcm. What is the actual calculated load?
