The number of services allowed for a building is described 230.2. Given no special special conditions and occupancies, only 1 service is allowed. Section 230.40 says the number of service conductors allowed is only 1 set, unless for 6 service disconnect rule.

My question is if using 1 main service disconnect, what happens for loads over 380 amps if only 1 set of conductors is allowed? Example: 1400 amps

In this context, a set of service conductors can include more than one conductor per phase. If you have five conduits from the service transformer to the main service panel, each conduit containing four 500 MCM conductors (A, B, C, and N) and a 4/0 ground, then you have a total of 25 wires, but only one set of service conductors.

Wow thanks. Isn't the wording not clear for someone not knowing that? 1 set to me means 1 conductor per phase.
