I'm not going to comment about what you said. Being a former Marine believe me you don't won't to go there. I have been in the Electrical business for over 30 years and we had to know more than that to become electricians. I do apologize to the form for not holding my thoughts. This form is the best and needs only productive replies. Semper Fi.

mickeyrench,

I've read some of your prior posts and would like to know how do you think they should be done?

What brand of loadcenter is installed?

I don't understand "enter the panel by the larger of the two"...
Could you clear that up?

I guess I went off on you because the question seemed something every electrician should know. Its hard to remember back when I started in 1974 after serving in the Marines for six years on active duty. I had a good boss that was about three years my senior and we did all kinds of electrical work. We did resenditial and commercial work where I was able to learn one on one. I realize most companies have electricians pulling wire, running EMT, trouble shooting, switching and plugging. Most companies want production and there is no time to learn. I have always told anyone helping me there are no stupid questions. The only stupid questions are those not asked. The only mistakes are those that can't be corrected. So I guess I put my big foot in my mouth and it doesn't taste good. You can ask anything the form will answer and I won't get smart. It just seemed to me it was getting where people were asking questions instead of looking it up. Taking the easy way out. To the form I should have answered this privately but I hope some of you will learn by my mistake. Sorry and Semper Fi.

Mickey-- you should not be bothered by what was said here. I have felt bad at times also but we are all here to learn. I am sorry for what happened to you but I am hoping you will get by it and come forward to continue your question-- at least clarify so we know exactly what you are asking.

This is a learning forum for all of us. Even the moderators occassionally learn something new. Most of us have a lot to learn and many have a lot to offer. Believe me---we have all been there. Sometimes you need some thick skin around here--- hope you'll be back.

Mickey,

That Brady dude woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. His comment was a little out of line for this forum. But cut him some slack we all have bad days.

If I understand your withdrawn question you wanted to know if you can put two different size conductors through the same hole in the panel, is this correct?

I believe he's asking about tapping the rod #6 GEC onto the water-pipe #4 GEC, rather than landing them both in the panel.

I'd say that the latter must be continuous, the former is a jumper, and it may be done that way, but it wouldn't be my preference.
