Greetings all,
I got a question that I'm not sure belongs here, but I'll ask anyway... A friend of mine has a shop at rough in stage ( 40' x 80', heated, phone, intercom, cable, fancy Iridium glazed windows, stereo to rival a rock band) and He's wondering about lighting at this point, what I had for ideas. I have been away from resi for a few years and am wondering what I have available for new and energy effiecient (read energy star ) lighting. Not wanting to sound like a D.A. I recommended something flush mount in the drywalled ceiling, in an inboard/outboard fixture for different light levels, for several areas in the shop.
My pal is a high end canoe/ custom cabinet/ art / sculpture maker, so he won't be very concerned with the price of this. But I said expensive lighting is'nt always the best, just the most expensive. (my words of wisdom thus far).
A few years back when I was in the game of resi, it was mostly seber sockets and 100 watt bulbs in an unattached garage/shop. Now after googleing for a while, I find everything from LED to compact flourescents.
I am just wondering what I could tell this guy to keep in tune with the level of installation so far.
Thanks guys
Steve
