shower light

This just came up with a HUD job I had, where people get new windows interest free but they always make them do some electrical like smokes and gfi's. They called for the surface light over the tub to be changed to a recess. In the specs it said code compliant and in parentheses it said gfi protected. I didn't gfi it so we will see, but I checked an old thread about it here and it was covered well. Never seen the requirement on a recess can. Also talk about direct and indirect shower spray. There is also a great picture of a tub with two wall sconces that stickboy did. Looks like a great tub for a cialis commercial.:D

HUD is a strange animal. They have no requirement in manufacured homes to install AFCI breakers or TR recepts.

BUT in Ohio after one year if the HUD unit is on a permanent foundation it then falls under the residential code and then any electrical changes, like replacements, would be to the current NEC adoped. 2008 NEC for 1, 2, 3 family here.

Your state may or may not have similar rules.

Not in NH. All an inspector needs to see is a HUD sticker (usually on the inside of the cabinet door for the sink) and only the service is inspected.
