shower steamers

I was wondering if a 240 volt shower steamer ( a device that creates steam in the shower) would need to have a GFCI breaker. The unit itself is not in the shower, but in a small mechanical room that is adjacent to the shower which has drywall on both sides of the wall in a residential home. I have not hooked one up before and was wondering if anyone has?

GFCI protection is not required by any section of the NEC for the equipment you describe except for possibly 110.3(B). Check the manufacturers instructions for specifications.

Of the ones that we've wired, none have required GFCI protection.
Read the instructions, it is possible, but I doubt it.

Could this be a shower steamer if you angled the shower head up during your shower?

WoW! Take a shower, replace a fuse, add a circuit all at the same time.

my instructor who is also state inspector, has got a picture similar to that, only with a bar of soap and a wash rag in the bottom of a panel

The home owner was concerned about dry rot beacause of all the exposed wood and the moisture?
