Shower Trim vs. Steam Rated Trim

Is there a need for a sepcial trim for a residential steam shower? For showers we normally use Juno 5101-WH which is rated for wet locations and I don't see a specific code for a steam shower. Does anyone kno of a code or does anyone have field experience that would suggest it would be better to use something other than the Juno 5101-WH?

Thanks

the steamer steam is steamier of course. It is actually water vapor by the time it reaches the peron and or light fixture. If it were steam your skin would be burnt away very quickly , and it would hurt a bit too.

Wet location trims are not all the same. I thought code stated no exposed metallic parts and glass or plastic lense in a shower.

I don't think so. Got a code reference?

LMAO :D Its the steamiest.

True but I had it mixed up with 680.43 B1c1 for recessed luminares over a spa. I just carried it into bathtubs and showers but it is not a requirement for those. That's a little odd. To me it makes sense for all baths, showers, and such. I'll keep doing it that way anyway. Seems like a better design.

It was a couple years ago, but I was only able to find one manufacturer who made a can/trim combo purposely for steam showers. It was a low voltage fixture, and was a little over 350 bucks, my cost. I'm 90% sure Thomas was the brand. It had studs on the edge of the can the whole way around the opening, and the trim went on with fancy nuts on those studs. Thick cork gasket. When it was trimmed out, it looked something like the porthole on a ship.

I see no compelling NEC reason to use a steam rated trim in a steam shower, but common sense prevails on me to use one.

I do not see the difference in a very hot shower steam and steam made by a generator... you guys crack me up...

Yeah, good ole Bill's "It depends on what the definition of is ,is" aint got nothing on us , .. there is another thread in which there is discussion as to what the "same length means" regarding parallel conductors
