Shunt Trip Breaker for Type 2 Hood?

I was wondering if I needed to install a Shut Trip Breaker/Shut Trip Panel for equipment under a Type 2 Hood?

Let me know if you need the list of equipment under the type 2 Hood

The code does not say that automatic shutdown is not required under Type II hoods, so I would say yes, it is required if a fire supression system is provided

Only cooking appliances need to be shut off. If there are other electrical components they will not be required to shut off

IBC 904.12.2 System interconnection. The actuation of the fire suppression system shall automatically shut down the fuel or electrical power supply to the cooking equipment. The fuel and electrical supply reset shall be manual.

Only appliances capable of creating grease-laden vapors must be under a Type I hood. Type I hoods must have suppression systems. Those appliances capable of creating grease-laden vapors under a Type I hood must be shut off when the suppression system is activated. Items under a Type II hood require neither suppression systems nor equipment shut off.
