Second switch is needed for any second system from a separate source, possibly to indicate to fire alarm that there was trouble in the hood?thank you to all who helped me through this ansul inspection, it passed and now i am working on another system to control both make up air and power to the outlets under the hood, quick question , do i need a separate shunt breaker to control both devices or being that i have two micro switches can i use the other to control the outlets using the same shunt breaker, if so how the heck does that work.
Otherwise no reason you can't parallel all the shunt coils of all shunt trip breakers so they all run off the same contact. Might not be a good idea to derive the control power from any of the shunt trip breakers though, if for some reason control power is lost and one of the breakers hasn't yet tripped, there never will be a signal to make it trip.
