Interesting. You have not provided any information about the breaker and as such an accurate answer can not be provided.
The answer could be either yes or not which would be dependent upon the breaker manufacturer and type.
I know for a fact that the breaker manufacturer that I am thinking of can fit in the same space if ordered correctly but it most likely would be dependent upon the breaker frame type.

Others have mentioned it depends on the manufacturer, but in that size I have never seen a shunt trip breaker that didn't take one extra pole position, regardless of the number of phases. We provide shunt trip breakers regularly for the shut down of kitchen equipment as part of kitchen range hood suppression system installs.

If the OP was more specific his question could have been answered with one reply. But it is a lot mor fun to guess what his application.
As I implied it is possible to specify an industrial/commercial breaker where the ST leads exit along side an F frame breaker through channels in either side of the breaker exiting the load end of the breaker. As a former breaker applications engineer this was an available option.
But, since theOp was very vague in his question it's unknown what his options are.

I have the exact opposite experience. I have not seen a 100A 3 pole breaker what WOULD be any different size with or without a shunt trip, at least not in the last 20 years or so. But then again in that time I have not done anything other than industrial work. Most of the industrial grade MCCBs have the STs installed at the factory in the back of the case behind the rear barrier, or newer designs now have "pockets" in the front of the case into which you can field mount accessories such as STs, UVTs, and aux contacts of various configurations without changing anything else about the breaker.

So again, insufficient data...
