A shunt trip circuit is nothing special to the NEC, all the normal ways of wiring a load apply. However you would wire a receptacle or light fixture in the same location would work for a shunt trip.
Additionally, if the shunt coil operates from a power limited source, like a fire alarm control panel or a releasing panel for sprinkler or clean agent, you could use low voltage wiring methods to reduce cost, assuming local codes don't prohibit this.
